Wow!  What a way to get the 2^nd session started!  Today was hot hot hot!  And a little windy to boot…

As the day began, we here at Camp Agawak didn’t waste any time moving ahead into our 2^nd half of the summer.  Yesterday we finished all our red tape, had our 1^st blue/white program of the session, and did an activity sign-up, all just to get moving FULL SPEED AHEAD!  So today we jumped right in to it.  The weather was any ally, at least in the morning.  It was very warm up here, but the interesting thing happened in the afternoon, where it was just too windy for us to do any skiing.  Well that’s ok, cause boat rides it was!  Maybe even a visit to the jumping tree!  It’s so infrequent that we get to do such things.  As for other activities, well, they went off just as planned!  Our amazing Zumba Sally went all morning with a packed house in HCH.  How and where she gets her energy is a mystery to modern science. 

One thing I love about 2^nd session is that the calendar falls in just a way that we start off after our first full day with a campfire, and tonight, what an energetic campfire it was!  The girls sang with so much spirit and energy that I bet the neighbors even took notice!  We had many guest singers jump up on stage, including our CIT choir, JC 1’s and our Reflections class.  They had the ‘nerve’ to sing a song they made up about our ‘missing’ packages!  Too funny!  Our 1^st campfire also let us hear from some of our wonderful campers, who threw their key logs into the fire, and expressed just beautifully how much camp means to them, how much friends and family mean to them, and any other thoughts they wished to express.  As I’m sure you know by now, we only pick 1 girl from each division to talk, so it is quite an honor.

Tomorrow the weather gods are promising us a bit of heat relief, which we hope stays dry so we can have our 2^nd day of activities go off as planned.  I can’t fully describe how the first session has whistled by, and we don’t want to miss one second of what’s sure to be another unbelievable 2^nd half to our summer.  Please stay glued to us as we keep making summer dreams come true….
