The 4th!

Hello from Camp Agawak,

Everything is moving full speed ahead as we completed another magical 4th of July celebration. Camp Agawak is always honored to be a part of this special day. It’s a fun filled Minocqua tradition. At flagpole, everyone was dressed in their red, white & blue.  Breakfast was scrambled eggs, bacon, bagels, fresh fruit, and yogurt that provided us the energy we needed for the day. We then headed off to clean our cabins for inspection and finished our parade preparation. The weather was hot and muggy until showers doused us early in the afternoon.

Around 4:00p.m. the weather cleared and by 4:30 the parade was moving forward. Our campers and parade staff who worked so hard on the parade were ready to go. Ducky drove the famous Camp Agawak orange fire truck filled with international staff celebrating their fifth summer with us and American counselors who have spent a decade of summers at Agawak.

Our parade dance was choreographed to perfection by Chloe Levitz, Chelsey Jacobs, Maya Rudman, Kayla Morris & Mela Baldan.  After the parade, we gathered for a cook out with some “Vienna Chicago Hot Dogs, Ducky Style”, a variety of chips, carrots, apples and electrolyte pops which replenished our campers.

After dinner we headed to see the popular Min-Aqua Bats ski show headed by Agawak staff member, Charlotte Patterson, Min-Aqua Bats President. Our girls had amazing seats and sat with Camp Kawaga during the show.  The weather continued to cooperate, we gathered at our campsite in town and laid down our blankets for the fireworks show.  Everyone was overjoyed with the day.
