The Action Never Stops

We woke this morning excited for Olympic Day.  Our 4 Olympic Day teams are Finding Nemo, Shrek, Frozen and Toy Story.  Camp is full of creative outlets and proof of this is found in the beautiful team banners that each team created. Team Shrek took first place with their banner and were hard to beat during the egg on spoon races in Happy Camper Hall. Morning showers took us indoor for relay races that typically are held outside. Rain or shine, the weather never stops us from having fun.

This afternoon we are mixing up our traditional Olympic Day events due to overcast and wet weather. Campers and staff are using their creative talents and imagination on stage for the first annual Disney Olympic Day pageant. Campers donning silly hats and crazy costumes will take over Happy Camper Hall.

Everyone will get in on the action as campers will dress their PA or CIT up to represent their individual O-Day team. Our campers and counselors feel safe at camp, safe to be silly and safe to use their imagination. Our silly pageants are wacky, but campers and counselors learn quickly that camp promotes a judgment-free environment, where they can be themselves and act like a kid in a world where they are exposed to adult themes in their TV shows, music and social media. I guess we encourage our girls to be silly in a variety of ways and this afternoon our program is super goofy. Check out the pictures that will be posted later this evening.

Hats off to our O-Day commissioners (Kiera Abramson, Spencer Weiss and Danielle Bassock) who organized and implemented this fun day!

Smile on,
Mary :))
