Backwards Day and More!

Yesterday we awoke to patrol telling us it was time to go to bed. We assemble at flagpole to go over camper and counselor of the evening then hustled up to the picnic table area for dinner.

We bypassed inspection for an evening program and cabin hunt game. In the afternoon cabins went station to station and performed various tasks as a cabin. Once the task was completed each cabin was given a letter and sent on to their next station. We had an archery station, cracker whistling station, cabin seat drops at trampball, a whip cream station, a gymnastics obstacle course station and much more.  Once all the letters were collected cabins scrambled to unscramble the letters to spell the words "Camp Kawaga" and an evening social was announced.

We headed up to a cookout breakfast of eggs, bagels and bacon. Immediately after breakfast, rain swiftly came in threatening our social event. We waited it out and finally the skies cleared and we were on our way to Kawaga where campers and staff sang and danced the night away until 9 pm.

As if our day wasn't packed enough, at 11:30 pm our spunky CITs made a special midnight movie announcement. We chanted midnight movie until the buses pulled out and we headed to the Lakeland Cinema.

Lucky it was lazy breakfast this morning which allowed us to sleep in. Ducky made homemade pancakes to order and a series of clinics were offered at 10:30. Campers were climbing the tango tower, making fettuccine alfredo, enjoying pontoon tours of Blue Lake, dipping candles, creating mosaic signs and much more.

At lunchtime we announced our campfire girls and campers signed up for their second round of activities. Tonight at campfire Emma Fogel, Logan Borre, Caroline Zajec, Georgia E'Lstrange, and Chrissy Shi will share their campfire speechs as we listen with open hearts. These young ladies are great examples of what it means to be in an Agawak girl. They are kind and their kindness is a strength that makes our camp a better place to be.

Despite the cold weather we are experiencing everyone's spirits are high and camp is off to a brilliant start.

Smile on,
