Lazy Breakfast.  Are there any two words more beautiful n the English language?  After going Full Speed Ahead for days, it’s always nice to slow down, rest, and enjoy some extra sleep, followed by Ducky’s pancakes.  Here are your choices:  plain, blueberry, chocolate chip, or cinnamon.  We have a movie playing in the lodge for those little ones who like breakfast and a movie.  Suzi and I hear the new game “carpet ball” ringing near our cabin.  Of course some girls are playing GaGa ball, while other are playing Tetherball.  (We are the Tetherball capital of the world, you know…)  Let’s catch everybody up to speed with what’s been going on here…

Friday we woke up to a gorgeous Blue Lake morning.  We had a morning of activities, after a full day of activities on Thursday.  As camp is getting closer to the end (ARG!) and our rookies leaving Sunday, activities are bumping!  The girls at the ski dock are really pushing it!  Dropping a ski, crossing the wake, getting up on one ski, skiing with a friend, everyone is trying new things…love it!  As the afternoon hit, we surprised all our girls by telling them the afternoon was town day!  So after a good lunch and rest period here, we started taking the girls in town.  They did their usual tour of Minocqua, and I’m certain the many ice cream stores in town we much appreciative.  Everywhere Suzi and I go, Mary too, all we hear is how nice and polite our campers and staff are.  Music to our ears.  Then it was time for Pizza!  Since it’s a Friday, of course it has to be pizza for dinner!  Ducky and his staff get a well-deserved evening off, so we let Alexander’s Pizza do the cooking for us.  We gather in Torpy Park and have about 10,000 pizza delivered (well, it seemed that way to me!)  After dinner, we all gathered down at the Min-Aqua Bowl to see the ski show!  Agawak has at least 5 employees skiing in the show, so anytime one of ours is introduced or in an act, the girls let them know it by their screams and cheers.  So fun!  And less I forget, we did all this minus our PA’s, who spent the night walking for Relay for Life.  Mary and Bill even stopped by at about 11pm; to bring them some much needed nourishment and encouragement!!!!!  They got back to camp at about 6am.  Yes, they slept in and hobbled around the next day!

Unlike July 4th, we get back to camp early enough to get a good nights sleep.  Saturday we slept the girls a little longer, and the spent the morning finishing up practice for our big 3 day Final Four competition.  We divide the camp into 4 teams, and they will spend ½ of Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (GONZO) competing.  After lunch, the CIT”s took over with their carnival.  Lot’s of games, prizes, and food.  Nice job Gabrielle and the CIT’s.  Then we announced…SOCIAL SOCIAL…. With Kawaga!!!  It’s always great to see our old Asst. Director Dewey!!!!

That brings us to today.  After breakfast, we are about to have opening ceremonies for Final Four.  Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky.  Sorry Big 10 fans, maybe next year!  Gots to go! It’s opening time!!!!!!
