Happy Sunday

It’s was lazy breakfast at camp today.  Everyone enjoyed sleeping in and as always, and eating Ducky’s delicious pancakes.  We rang the bell at 10:30 and campers and staff gathered at the flagpole for another fun filled morning of clinics. Chef Cheryl invited 12 girls up to cooking for a special clinic in crepe making!  Once the word got out Cheryl had 20 girls filtering in and out for yummy French crepes.  Over in Arts and Crafts Jennie was having the girls carve designs in linoleum tiles while others were busy making bracelets.  Down at the ski docks MP and the boys welcomed the Jr. Camper’s down for another ski clinic.  Girls are progressing quickly from the boom to the rope and skiing gracefully around Blue Lake.  The Candle Shop was hopping this morning with 20 plus happy dippers.

We are anxiously awaiting the lunch bell to ring so we can enjoy our Sunday Tacos!  This afternoon will be another busy day as all the divisions rotate through our second Activity Sign-up, open waterfront and a camp favorite…TUBING!  The camper’s are all excited for their second round of activities and already planning out their “perfect” schedules, as I sit here typing I can hear girls on the front porch talking about what they are signing up for.  The staff is also excited; as activities are in full swing and girls are learning and trying new things.  We are a very happy camp. There isn’t a cloud in the sky.

This afternoon we will assemble all four dance lines to practice for the Fourth of July parade.  There will be approximately 190 girls smiling as they dance through the main street of Minocqua this Wednesday.   Andi, our Arts and Crafts director, has been hard at work on the parade banner and the administration is preparing to make sure Camp Agawak has a safe and fun day in town.  Lots and lots of T,s to cross and i’s to dot!! Every camper waits in anticipation for this fun-filled exhausting day. It’s a very stressful day for me but it’s also a very proud moment for me when I see the girls heading down the main street dancing and smiling from ear to ear. I know they are proud of themselves too. I can honestly say the Agawak Girls are the BIGGEST HIT of the entire parade.

The weather here continues to be hot and humid…..perfect for summer camp. Tonight campers will meet at flagpole in their Blue and White T-shirts and two long socks for a lively game of Kidnapped. Tomorrow we will hit it hard with a full day of activities.

Full speed ahead!
