Thursday we had a morning of activities until rain came in around 12:30 p.m. and took us indoors for the Great State of Agawak. Our energetic CITs were divided among cabins and were elected to be the mayor of their newly created Agawak city. After preparing a town song, mascot, and a famous city talent their town was presented in Happy Camper Hall. Cabin X (otherwise known as Bunksville) took 2nd place for the juniors and Cabin 2  (known as Lakeland) took 1st place for the juniors. With their beautiful voices Sydney Bronstein and Elle Pohl helped their cabins place 1st and 2nd. Cabin 9 (Blue Lake City) had Maya Karlov sing them into 2nd place but it was Cabin 10, Minocquaville, who took home the overall gold for the intermediates. Cabins D & J from DJ town were well represented by Ally Werstler and her famous periodic table wrap.

Thursday night skies were clear for our annual B and W cupcake wars. This years’ decoration theme was Blue & White with 10 sub-categories to represented each Blue & White game we play throughout the summer. The White team took the win despite the creative efforts of the Blue Team.

Today the clouds parted and the sun shined for a full activity day. Around 10 AM we said goodbye to our rookies. They were a great bunch of spirited campers who took advantage of our fun activities and left camp happy and exhausted. Our Agawak Alumnae counselors did an outstanding job entertaining them and keeping up with them. Their round the clock efforts required a 3 hour nap this afternoon.

Tonight we are playing Kidnapped. This game involves campers searching high and low throughout camp for “Jaclyn, Jacob and Joshua”, as well as objects hidden throughout camp. Who will have the best hiding places this summer?

I’m off to ring the bell……it’s time for another round of hiding!
