Water and Big Games

What a scorcher it has been the past few days!! Yesterday was a fun day of activities with a waterfront rest period. Campers got to swim in Blue Lake and enjoy some of our amazing water toys.

With more hot weather all day we opened up the waterfront today after each round of Blue and White big games.  We completed the day with another plunge into the lake and an announcement of our social with Camp Menominee.

I’d like to share some writings from a few campers who reflected on their camp experience so far. Enjoy!!

"First week of camp. Different feelings and emotions. For some people, this amazing place is new and different. For some people this astonishing place is so old and familiar. Camp for me is an unexplainable feeling that you are finally at home. When I see my camp friends I immediately feel safe, happy and content. Camp is one of the few places that make me feel all of those feelings at once."

"This first week of camp was incredible. The first day was fun because I met three new people that I can spend the rest of my life with. The following days were the same amount of happiness and joy. Signing up for activities, tubing with my favorite people, spending time with my incredible cabin mates and blue and white are a few examples of what fun I had the first week."

"As the bus rolls down Agawak road, going bump bump on pebbles and sticks, an unexplainable feeling rapidly rushes through the air. Campers start laughing, screaming, crying for joy, the 10 month wait is over. We are home. The place where we can truly be themselves. We feel safe, wholesome, and utterly happy."

More fun to follow so stay tuned. Have an awesome day everyone and try to have as much fun as we are.
