Where do I start?

How can I possibly write about all the amazing things happening here on any given day?  I simply can’t. You have to be here to truly appreciate how powerful our relationships become.  People who are not at camp daily often ask me what my day is like.  It’s eclectic, fun, inspirational, and packed with more positive energy than one can imagine.  One minute it’s 8 am and I’m singing “Hip, Hip, Hooray you’re the camper of the day” then I turn around and the dinner bell is ringing. Our days are fast and furious.  Every day is different and any day at camp is worth 100 days someplace else.

I walk around camp and all I hear is the sound of laughter and beautiful young voices echoing through the woods.  This place is so full of life, full of friendships and full of teachable moments. No matter how long you’ve been at camp you never stop growing and learning.

Today was a sunny warm day at camp. We were in full activities all day. Campers stopped me left and right to tell me all about their accomplishments.  I found myself spinning around in circles as campers came to me with exciting news of their daily accomplishments.  Here’s just some of the ones I recall:

Annabelle M. - skied on the rope for the first time!
Serena G. - skied around blue Lake for the first time!
Niki S. & Casey H. both scored a goal in lacrosse for the first time at camp!
Julia R. - sailed successfully for the first time on Blue Lake!
Emma N. - made an awesome bracelet in arts and crafts.
Lucy F. - climbed to the top of the tango tower without stopping!
Lindsey B. and Lily M. - took off down the zip-line for the first time!
Winter R. – did a flip on the trampolines during gymnastics. Yeah!
Katey G.- dropped a ski and made it half way around the lake for the first time.

We are off to an extraordinary start.  Tomorrow will be another action packed activity day. So stay tuned for more Agawak adventures.

Smile on,
