Blue & White Competition

Blue and White is still as important and powerful as it was decades ago. Wednesday both teams battled it out in a potpourri of big games.  Senior ga-ga ball was exciting to watch. Both teams played best out of 3! The first game went to Blue, the White Team took the second game, and White held on to the overall victory! Chloe Levitz stood out in senior basketball for the white team, while CIT’s Sydney Kalter and Skylar Prizant dominated in senior dodge ball for Blue, and Katey Goldman helped win junior dodge ball for White. Lily Emalfarb had the Upper Athletic Field on their feet screaming in her many saves as the White team senior soccer goalie, and our junior tennis players held a close game of doubles, between Liza Greenberg and Halle Michael for White, and Claudia Siegel and Lexie Paull for Blue, where the win ultimately went White. After three rounds of intense play for both teams, we ended the day in an incredible triathlon, ending in a full out sprint through in-one out-one and into camp. Juniors Casey Hughes and Nikki Segal battled it out, as did our CIT captains Angela Gutman and Marlee Neff, who ran in as the entire camp lined the path, screaming and cheering for both teams. While both triathlons’ ended in a win for the Blue, girls from both teams surrounded the participants and congratulated them on a job well done, embodying the sportsmanship and spirit of Blue and White games, and giving us a great note to end the afternoon on!

Our camper of the day on Wednesday was Anais Zoub and counselor of the day was Marni Widen.  Both were tickled to be given this tribute.  Today our camper of the day Lorraine Hammes and counselor of the day Sabina Whitehurst were surprised at flagpole. Being either the counselor of the day or camper of the day is a special honor and a small perk is that their entire cabin is dismissed to the salad bar first for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It may not seem like a big bonus but at camp one of the most frequently asked questions is, “What’s for lunch or what’s for Breakfast?”

Last night, we had a social with Camp Ojibwa.  Monster Entertainment came to DJ the event and it was amazing!  They set up their display on the tennis courts and danced the night away.  Everyone was dancing and catching up with old friends.  Monster handed out shirts and hats for all of the great dancers and really got the crowd jumping!  We could hear it all the way down at the office!  Ducky made his famous brownies that are always a big hit and whipped up a special treat for the gluten free girls.  The girls came into the office after and told us that they had the BEST time!  Thank you Monster Entertainment for another great night!

As the sun is out today, we are full speed ahead with activities!
