A Busy Wednesday with Lots of FUN!

Last night we celebrated Halloween Agawak Style.  There were lots of ghosts, goblins and Minions running all over the place.  Ducky gave fire truck rides a few minutes behind Brandon and counselor Penny who were pulling campers on the tractor through the forest of Agawak on a scary Halloween hayride.  The CIT’s were going down one by one in the dunk tank as campers hit the target. It was a brisk night and the feeling of Halloween was in the air. Candy was flowing left and right as campers traveled to over 18 different carnival booths to win candy.  The hardest one was the Sombrero Toss. Campers Conked the Crow, Lassoed the Longhorn and tried their luck at the Cow-pie Fly game.  One of the favorite stations is the cookie station. The JC1 haunted house would have to be the second most popular event.  Halloween evening is a favorite among the campers. It’s the one night of the summer I had out lots of candy and the evening is filled with nonstop action. I’m glad to report no one threw-up or had tummy aches last night. J

This morning our camper of the day was full season camper Rachel Rosen. Counselor of the day was Spencer Weiss who does a solid job working the ski docks. Our morning was spent in a series of open areas. Campers travelled back and forth to: Tie-dying, Lacrosse, a dance clinic, parade practice and the camper/counselor tennis tournament was also going on. Alexis Paull from TX and I won the camper/counselor tennis tournament. Yes, I had a ringer for a partner. She carried me all the way. The morning ended with a gigantic waterfront cool down.

After lunch and rest period we went into special programming.  A variety of crazy and wacky games were played by cabins as they rotated between stations. We had a leap frog race, a human jelly roll race, cotton ball and Vaseline race, dizzy lizzy race, huff puff ping pong chase, steam roller competition and a holey bucket pursuit.  Lots of fun was had by all.

The Blue and White score board is heating up. Our last event Say-What- Karaoke was incredible. The energy packed inside Happy Camper Hall during the performance could have catapulted a rocket to the moon. The night ended up with a W for the White Team.  Our annual spelling Bee victory went to the Blue Team.

Blue and White is unlike any color war I've ever heard about or witnessed. The longevity of this program (95 years) is unmatched. The leadership, team work and deep sense of sisterhood it fosters can’t be duplicated.  Our day will end with Blue and White water wars tonight.

As our camping days unfold stay tuned for more fun.

Smile on,
