Hooray for trying new things!!!

This morning we gathered around the flagpole and sang our praises to camper of the day Sydney Cohen and counselor of the day Sam Soloway.  The sun is shining & we are having fun in the sun.
From water to land to sky we have many amazing campers who are soaring to new heights. Wish I had time to share every single triumph but here are just a few “First Time” accomplishments.

From the waters of Blue Lake….
Abigail Horwitz, Alexis Abrams, Ninde   Soulier, Caroline Skok and Jada Michael ALL water skied for the first time.   Jessica Baigorria and Alexis Colman got up on skis too on their very first try.  Erika Kider skied around all of Blue Lake for the first time ever!
Peyton Kessel gave paddle boarding a go for the first time.

On land…..
Mackenzie Goldin got her first bull’s-eye in archery.
Ryann Goldsmith performed a somersault on only a 4” wide balance beam!

Going up….
New climbers Amanda Golde, Maddie Abrams and Lily Emalfarb all tackled the Tango Tower.  Ava Silverglade and Carly Kohn made the climb together for the first time on Jacob’s ladder.

Much of the day today was spent out on the waterfront.  Jessie A, Marley I, Emily W, Stacey R, Ryan L, Jamie P, Hannah L, and Jordyn K planned an action-packed beach day-party. The girls went through rotations of tubing, swimming, sliding, blobbing, and sandcastle making. There was also a “VIP” section on the beach where tropical drinks with mini umbrellas were served along with chips and salsa. We were fortunate to have such a bright sunny day for the girls to enjoy. Tonight we will board the buses to visit our camp friends at Camp Menomonie. Tomorrow we will be in full activities going full speed ahead.

Camp is life changing. I’m so proud to be a apart of all these young girls’ lives. There are so many special moments in every single day at camp. I’m lucky enough to be able to press the repeat button every morning and do this “camp thing” over and over.  When campers and counselors tell me camp has changed their lives for the better it’s one of those fulfilling moments that confirms this is where I was meant to be.  I’ve never underestimated the power of camp because I see day after day lives transforming right before my eyes.  We have a lot of camping left to be done.

Stay tuned for more camp fun to come!
