Olypmic Day and Ski Show

What a jammed-packed couple of days we have had! Sunday was not our usual lazy breakfast as the OLYMPIC DAY flag was flying high! Ducky did make yummy pancakes to fuel everyone up for the day’s events…just not the made to order kind! Olympic games can’t begin of course without an opening ceremony? Our Olympic Day commissioners, Amanda Berk and Tatum Anderson had board game teams (MONOPOLY, SORRY, CANDYLAND and CLUE) competing for their name of the O-Day Trophy.

Each team had beautiful banners and clever skits which entertained the commissioners, admin staff and the rest of camp. The creativity and spirit put into this day never ceases to amaze me. A camp favorite COMMANDO was played at night and SORRY took home the WIN. In the end team SORRY took home the overall victory with MONOPOLY, CANDYLAND and CLUE close behind.  We had a blast playing all sorts of land and water sports, but my favorite part was watching every team pull together and work as a unit.

Today was another awesome day on Blue Lake. Campers were in full swing with activities galore. Outdoor cooking made delicious vegetable kabobs over the campfire and campers were stirring up homemade sponge cake in indoor cooking. Our pottery class has made some nice pieces of art and by now most of our campers have passed out of swimming lessons. We had a BIG surprise for the entire camp tonight when the Min-Aqua-Bats gave us a personalized waterski show on our shoreline.

I don’t know where the past several weeks has gone but I know the fun will never stop. Agawak will continue to move and shake until we have to say goodbye to our first session camp sisters
