Quick Note from Mary

Today's the day we've all been waiting for. It's time for friendship and fun on the shores of Blue Lake. Once again I couldn't sleep last night. I tossed and turned mostly with excitement. It's almost  show time!!!!!  I'm constantly thinking about what final touches are needed before the campers arrive in a few short hours.

There is a sense of comfort I feel knowing I have such a strong infirmary and kitchen staff this summer.  Time will tell but I truly believe I've assembled the strongest group of counselors I have ever had. I have been most impressed with the genuineness and the strong sense of camaraderie I have observed between my veteran and new staff throughout our pre-camp week together.

Monday night after dinner the counselors enjoyed some well deserved tubing on Blue Lake. A little rest and relaxation is always in order before the campers arrive. Then we headed up to the lodge to construct job charts while snacking on Alexander's cheese pizza.

Tuesday morning, I woke early put on my tennis shoes and headed down to camp,
in search of things left undone. Pen and paper in hand I gathered my list. It was very small in comparison to previous summers.

Last night the staff finished their day with one final staff show practice before heading off to bed.

Camp is still and quiet right now as we all wait in anticipation for our little campers to arrive.  Our buses are on their way with a quick stop in Milwaukee.

We are ready and waiting!!!! Campers your lakefront retreat and second home awaits you.

Smile on,
Mary
