On that final day of camp each August I have yet to watch the campers leave without shedding tears. Saying goodbye this summer was especially hard. I’ve poured over the photographs and lament the end of another summer at camp. Together we’ve embraced the importance of spending a summer in nature on Blue Lake with friends who share the same passion for campfires Tugpball Blue &White and camp traditions.
Those warm summer days are now giving way to crisp autumn nights. School activities are going full speed ahead and another wonderful summer has come and gone. Priority registrations were mailed and the September 16th deadline is fast approaching. Over 100 campers are already registered most attending for the full season. If you’re like me your home wishing summer was just beginning. The summer of 2011 was close to heaven but I’m keeping myself busy preparing for AGAWAK and YOU in the big 1mer. Soon we will be implementing a password protected photo gallery. More information will follow but be aware next summer each family will be given a password which must be used to access the photo gallery section of our web site. Please send pictures during the off season of your Agawak get on the web.
Staff contracts have already gone out for next summer. Guess who was the first person to sign their official staff contract? If you guessed Rachel Schlecter you guessed right. Allison Grosky was the first JC2 to return her contract. Claire Lister and Kobe are the first international staff to give me the green light for next summer. I’ll be sure to continue to give you staff updates throughout the off season.
Is anyone out there looking for a green pillow pet? It was left on the bus and brought back to camp. Please notify the camp office if it’s yours and we’ll ship it back to you.
Enjoy your fall while you’re reminiscing about summer.
Smile on
Mary
