Blue and White Galore!

Hi parents! It’s Jen and Jamie writing again! We just wanted to fill you in on all of the fun blue and white games that have taken place over the past two days, as well as other exciting things that have gone on at camp.

On Friday night, we played the camp favorite “Capture the Flag” at the Kawaga field.  The campers split up into two divisions, junior and senior, and boarded the buses to Kawaga.  The blue and white teams were separated on the buses to keep the intensity stronger than ever.  Let’s just say, last night was a huge success.  To begin, the juniors played.  Tatum Rudman, Nikki Segal, and Samantha Linn all captured flags for the blue team.  When each of these girls got the flag across the center line, the team rushed over to them cheering! It was so great to see all of the girls supporting each other during this crazy game.  Next the seniors came onto the field and as anyone would probably guess, the intensity was even stronger.  All of the girls put on their game faces and put up a fight to protect their team’s flag, while trying to get the other team’s flag.  The both of us were so amazed with how fast these girls ran.  Some of the girls who captured senior flags were Katie Abrams, Melissa Dolins, and Dia Chaimovitz.

On Saturday morning, about 60 campers and staff members woke up early in the morning to compete in the annual Mike Ross 5K run.  Overall, Agawak placed very well.  The first Agawak girl to cross the finish line was Kiera Abramson.  Not far behind, and placing first and second in their age group, were Sophie Lackner and Carly Roseman.  Every girl who ran in the race crossed the finish line and enjoyed the delicious donuts at the end.

When we got back from the run, the campers were excited because they were going to be playing Blue and White Big Games.  This is a game in which the campers are split up into two divisions and compete in Basketball, Tennis, Dodgeball, Soccer, Softball, and Neukum.  The entire day was so fun and you will all just have to wait and see who won because the scores are still being tallied!

After a long day of Blue and White games, what would’ve been a better way to celebrate than an Agawak dance party with Monster Entertainment!  The theme was announced to be neon, so after dinner all of the girls ran back to their cabins to get dressed up for the night.  Let’s just say, the tennis courts were beyond bright!  It was a great evening program and it was definitely fun for the campers to have time to dance with their whole cabin since the past few nights have been Blue and White.

In case anyone was wondering about the meals of the day, we started off the morning with bagels, eggs, and bacon.  For lunch we had macaroni and cheese and mini corn dogs.  Lastly, for dinner we had our barbeque cookout with chicken, potatoes, corn, and watermelon.  Today was a day filled with some of camps favorite meals followed by the best dessert, brownies!
We hope all of you have had a great summer thus far and we can’t believe that the summer will soon end.  Both of us will return to school, apart from each other, and long for another summer in our favorite place on earth.  The spirit and excitement that has filled this camp for the past weeks has been incredible.  We have had the best time and can’t wait for the days to come because you all know what we’re waiting for…TREASURE HUNT!  Full speed ahead and can’t wait to write again!

XOXO
