From Campfire to Halloween-Summer is in Full Swing

What a whirlwind of fun we’ve had the past few days here on the shores of Blue Lake! Camp Agawak is buzzing with energy, laughter, activities galore and sunshine as we dive into another unforgettable week together.

We kicked Sunday off with Lazy Breakfast—a much-loved tradition following our midnight movie (Elio) the night before. Campers rolled into breakfast in their cozy pajamas for a relaxed, made-to-order pancake meal. The favorite pancake? Chocolate chip-hands down. The day eased into activity sign-up, tubing, and plenty of waterfront fun under sunny skies. We wrapped up Sunday the best way we knew how: gathered around the glow of the campfire. All-camp campfires are where we pause to reflect on our time together and feel the strength of the sisterhood that makes Agawak so unique. Whether it’s singing classic camp songs, sharing heartfelt Campfire Girl speeches, or recognizing campers for their kindness and growth, the campfire is a place where everyone feels deeply connected.

What’s most important isn’t the glowing embers or the twinkling stars above us—it’s the feeling of belonging. It’s the laughter from a silly skit, the cheers of a cabin song, and the quiet tears during a touching reflection. It’s knowing you’re part of something bigger than yourself.

Monday greeted us with blue skies and a burst of excitement—it was Halloween….Agawak Style! Campers went all out with incredible costumes, and the creativity on display was something to behold. Cabin X took home the prize for best costume, and the entire camp got a kick out of seeing our CITs taking turns in the dunk tank and getting pied in the face! Campers ran from station to station playing fun games for Halloween candy. Meanwhile, our amazing junior counselors transformed Alumnae Hall into a spooky Pirates of the Caribbean-themed haunted house that had everyone on their toes. The laughter, shrieks, and festive music made it a Halloween to remember.

Tuesday morning brought us oatmeal, eggs, bacon, and bagels—fuel for another sunny, 81-degree day packed with a full schedule of new activities. From the waterfront to pottery and beyond, everyone was soaking up the warm weather and dancing their hearts out to Walking On Sunshine which they will perform this Friday during the 4th of July parade.  At rest period, there was no rest as team members prepped for the annual Blue and White lip sync performances which will take place next Wednesday. Just when it seemed our day was about to relax… campers were suddenly “kidnapped” into an epic Blue and White game. The surprise launch of this classic Agawak tradition brought big energy and excitement to cap off an amazing day.

As the sun sets on our Tuesday, one thing is clear: the sisterhood of Agawak is alive and thriving. Your daughters are growing, learning, and making lifelong memories—and we’re so grateful to be part of their journey.

With love and Agawak spirit,

Mary
