Another Beautiful Day on Blue Lake

Another wonderful day has come and gone at Camp Agawak, and camp is settling into the rhythm of summer.

Our morning began at the flagpole, where we gathered as a camp community to recognize our Camper and Counselor of the Day. These special awards are nominated by fellow staff members and our administrative team; they recognize those who demonstrate kindness, leadership, positivity, and the spirit of Agawak. It is always inspiring to celebrate campers and counselors who make a difference in the lives of those around them.

Breakfast fueled us for a busy day ahead with French toast sticks, turkey links, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and cold cereal. After breakfast, campers eagerly signed up for this week’s activities. One exciting part of camp is choosing activities where campers learn new skills, build resilence and discover new interests. Whether it’s waterfront activities, arts and crafts, sports, outdoor adventures, or creative programs, there is something for everyone.

Throughout the day, campers enjoyed tubing on beautiful Blue Lake, spent time with friends, and gathered in the lodge for a spirited game of bingo filled with cheers and laughter.

This evening brought one of camp’s most anticipated traditions—the Blue and White Reveal. Excitement filled the air as campers learned their teams and captains were selected. Everyone immediately jumped into the fun with tug-of-war and enthusiastic team cheers. The energy was contagious, and the sounds of Blue and White spirit echoed across Blue Lake as girls proudly cheered for their teams.

Tomorrow promises to be a full day of activities. Whether Mother Nature brings sunshine or a little rain, one thing is certain at Camp Agawak—we know how to pack every day with fun, friendship, and adventure. Rain or shine, camp continues.

I continue to be incredibly proud of our staff. They have been patient, present, encouraging, and understanding as our first-year campers navigate all the excitement and emotions that come with being away from home. Their kindness and dedication help create an environment where every camper feels supported and cared for.

As we look ahead, there is so much to be excited about. Campfires under the stars, Blue and White competitions, special evening programs, Halloween, 4th of July Parad waterfront fun, camp traditions, cabin games and countless moments of laughter await. Every day brings new opportunities to make friends, gain confidence, and try something for the first time.

We’re just getting started so stay tuned for more fun.

Smile on,
Mary
