More Fun Today

From the moment everyone arrived at Agawak we have been going full speed ahead into an environment that fosters connection. Whether it’s bonding over late-night stories, navigating the highs and lows of Blue and White, or simply sharing in the everyday joys of camp life, the friendships being formed are unlike other friendships. There’s something special about forming bonds in such an immersive setting; the shared experiences and shared emotions create a strong, familial type connection.  Our camp sisters become family. As the final days of camp approach, the excitement and anticipation of home is mixed with an undercurrent of sadness. The realization that we will soon have to step back into the “real world” and part ways is sad. The end of camp means saying goodbye to those who have become an integral part of our summer experience and who have been there for us through everything from campfire singalongs to the smallest of daily rituals. Reality is starting to set in as we take advantage of the final week ahead.

Our days have been packed and stretched with many different programs, activities and events that it’s hard to keep it all straight. Days flow quickly into weeks and there is never enough hours in the day to squeeze in half of what we want to accomplish. From Final Four, to midnight movie, to a Camp Horseshoe social to white water rafting, from big games to a fun magic show, to swim the lake to Let’s Make a Deal, to dancing with Katie Soloway it was one of the best weeks of the summer. The only downfall of the week was having to say goodbye to a few rookie 2 campers.

Today, we were in full activities and ended our night with a camp favorite…..casino night. The theme was…party like its 1921. Instead of real money, campers used fake Agawak dollars to place bets and play various casino games. The focus was fun and entertainment while trying to accumulating as much Agawak dollars as possible for the cabin. Counselors ran the casino games, passed out bite size snacks and drinks and manned the music booth.

Overall, casino night is meant to be a lively and enjoyable event that offers a taste of casino excitement while keeping things lighthearted and upbeat.
