Midnight Movie, dancing in the streets and more!

Last night, our campers were treated to an event they look forward to as soon as they step off the bus –
MIDNIGHT MOVIE! They were woken up at 11:30 a.m.and bus-loads of excited campers headed to a local
theater, that Mary arranged to open up late for an exclusive midnight showing only for Agawak campers.

The older campers saw Top Gun and younger campers saw Lightyear. Sleepy and happy campers were
dropped back off at camp and went to bed in the wee hours of the morning.  Don't worry...they got to sleep in,
awakening to yet another treat they LOVE – Lazy Breakfast.... Ducky’s made-to-order pancakes, served
on a rolling basis as the campers ambled over to the kitchen – many in PJs.

As I walk through camp, I see the girls participating in lots of different activities. The morning after a midnight movie is always free-form and relaxed. They are playing badminton, volleyball, tennis and gliding through Blue Lake standing up on paddle boards, under a cloudless sky and the hot summer sun.

There is a long line of synchronized dancers snaking through camp, rehearsing for their
appearance in downtown Minocqua's annual Fourth of July parade. A few things are for certain at Camp Agawak: The
girls laugh loudly and love deeply. As the traditional song goes “We’re having fun in the sun”. They have
45 plus activities to choose from so all campers, from the uber-athletes to the writers to the artists, can find
things they will excel at.

We all know our campers just want to have fun. Today after lunch, there was an all-camp Luau,
with festive foods, face painting, a foam party, sidewalk chalk artistry and an open waterfront. Campers swam, blobbed, hit the slip-n-slide, evoking the beachy-paradise spirit of
Waikiki!

Aloha,
